Major accident in Himachal Pradesh, stone falls on bus full of passengers, more than 10 killed

National News: A major accident occurred on Tuesday night in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh . A bus on the Bhallu Bridge was hit by debris that fell from a hill . Fifteen passengers died on the spot, while several others were seriously injured. Locals arrived at the scene and began rescue and relief efforts. It is reported that there were approximately 30 passengers on board. Police and administration teams have also arrived at the scene. The debris is being removed with the help of a JCB .

A bus was passing near the Bhallu Bridge in Barthi , Jhanduta Assembly constituency , on Tuesday night. Around 30 passengers were on board . Suddenly , a hillside cracked , causing debris to fall on the bus. The passengers screamed in alarm. Hearing the noise, local residents rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. They also informed the local police station about the accident.

Debris being removed by JCB

The police team, upon receiving the information, called a JCB to the scene and removed the debris from the bus. The injured were then removed from the bus and taken to Ghumarwin Jhanduta Hospital by ambulance. It is reported that six passengers died at the scene of the accident, while the remaining eight succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Three passengers were rescued safely from the bus. No information has yet been received about the others.

CM expressed grief over the bus accident

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep condolences over the tragedy. He expressed condolences to the deceased and prayed for the peace of their souls. He stated that the state government stands firmly with the affected families during this difficult time and will provide them with all possible assistance.

Instructions given to Bilaspur administration for relief and rescue

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is in constant touch with the district administration and has directed them to expedite relief and rescue operations. He has also directed them to ensure that the injured are immediately transported to hospitals for treatment and that adequate arrangements are made for their treatment. The Chief Minister is continuously monitoring the situation from Shimla.
